Now that you have activated your Showit subscription, it is time to connect your custom domain so visitors can access your site at your own web address. If you have not yet purchased a domain, you will need to do that first. If you own an existing domain, you will need to log in to your existing domain provider to set up your domain.

What is a Domain?

Now that you are familiar with how a domain works, it is time to connect your domain to your website. To connect your domain to your Mary+Joseph template, follow the steps below.

1. Purchase a Domain (If You Have Not Already)

If you do not already own a domain, you will need to purchase one before connecting your site. We recommend GoDaddy for its simple setup and reliable support, but you can choose any domain provider you prefer.

2. Connect Your Domain in Showit

Once you have a domain and your Showit subscription is active, you will see an option in the left panel called “Connect Your Domain.” Click on this, and Showit will guide you through the process. (This option is only visible once your Showit subscription has been activated.)

3. Follow the Prompts to Update Your DNS Settings

After clicking “Connect Your Domain,” Showit will provide instructions for updating your domain’s DNS settings. This step ensures that your domain correctly points to your new Showit website.

• Showit will generate the necessary DNS records.
• Log in to your domain provider account (such as GoDaddy).
• Locate the DNS settings for your domain.
• Enter the records provided by Showit.
• Save your changes.

Once the DNS settings are updated, it may take up to 24-48 hours for the changes to fully take effect.
