If you are interested in setting up your blog with Showit, then this article is for you. While every Mary+Joseph template comes blog-ready, you still need to set up your WordPress blog so it can integrate with your website.
Showit integrates seamlessly with WordPress, the world’s leading blogging platform. That may sound a little intimidating if you have never blogged before, but the process is incredibly simple. With just a quick few steps, you will be blogging in no time.
In this post, we will walk you through exactly how to set up your WordPress blog with Showit.
Ready? Let’s dive in.
#1 – Ensure You Have a Showit Blog Subscription Plan
If you want to blog with Showit, you will need one of the two Showit subscription plans that include blogging:
- Basic Starter Blog is perfect if you are just getting started or if you want to manually copy your blogs from elsewhere.
- Advanced Blog is ideal if you make use of advanced plugins in WordPress or want Showit to migrate an existing blog for you.
Both are available as monthly or annual subscriptions. You can upgrade your plan by selecting Subscription in your main Showit dashboard.
#2 – Ask Showit to Set Up Your Blog
Once your blog-enabled subscription is active, reach out to the Showit team and ask them to set up your WordPress blog. You can do this directly through the chat feature inside your Showit editor. They will take care of the setup for you.
#3 – Log In to WordPress
As soon as your blog has been set up, Showit will send you a link to log in—for example, yourdomain.com/wp-admin
. Type this into your web browser and use your Showit username and password to log in.
#4 – Update Your Settings
Once inside WordPress, the first step is to update your settings. You can find Settings in the left panel. Add your Site Title, Tagline, and Site Icon. Also update language, date, and time settings if needed.
Next Steps
Once your blog is set up with WordPress, the next step is to integrate your blog into your Showit website. Setting up the blog in Showit requires a few more steps, but If you are using a Mary+Joseph template, the blog integration settings are already in place—so you do not need to worry about any of it.
You are now ready to create your first blog post. We will walk you through that in the next post.
